Soraya - A Story Woven in Stars

Some collections are created with fabric and thread.Soraya was created with memory, love, and legacy.
The Soraya Collection is more than a fashion line — it is a heartfelt tribute to my mother, Soraya Khanum, whose creativity and gentle strength shaped not only my childhood but also my journey as a designer.
The Meaning Behind the Name
The name Soraya comes from Persian and refers to the Pleiades — a constellation of seven stars known throughout history as symbols of guidance, protection, and inspiration. These stars were believed to light the way for travelers in the darkest of nights.
In many ways, my mother was my Soraya. She illuminated my path with grace, patience, and unwavering belief, showing me that creativity is not something you learn — it is something you live.
A Home Filled with Art
Growing up, our home felt like a living gallery. Every corner reflected my mother’s artistic touch. Sofa covers crafted with intricate patchwork, curtains designed from her imagination, and a front yard blooming with rare and lovingly nurtured flowers — all carried her signature.
Guests would pause, admire, and ask questions. To them, it was beauty. To me, it was home.
Where My Love for Fashion Began
My earliest memories of fashion were not runways or magazines — they were moments spent sitting beside my mother as she stitched. She designed our clothes with care, innovation, and love. I remember wearing long maxi dresses with delicate frills, feeling proud because no one else in my friend circle had anything like them.
She stitched, crocheted, and embroidered with a softness that felt like painting. Even the simplest everyday items carried her artistic spirit. She listened to my ideas, encouraged my imagination, and welcomed me into her creative world. Those quiet moments of togetherness became the foundation of my love for design.
Creativity Rooted in Love
My mother’s creativity was never taught — it was lived. Her hands moved with intuition, her designs carried emotion, and her work spoke without words. She showed me that true craftsmanship comes from the heart and that beauty has meaning when it is created with intention.
This philosophy lives on through the Soraya Collection — craftsmanship rooted in love, creativity guided by grace, and beauty balanced with strength.
What the Soraya Collection Holds?
The Soraya Collection is a carefully curated range of six timeless designs, each inspired by heritage artistry and refined for the modern woman. Signature Chunri-inspired patterns run through the collection, enhanced by delicate Kamdani and Mukesh handwork that adds subtle luminosity.
Airy khadi net shirts are paired with fluid grip pants, while silk dupattas bring softness and elegance to each ensemble. The designs are offered in versatile silhouettes and are available in both stitched and unstitched options, allowing every woman to style Soraya in her own way.
Each piece is created with attention to detail, comfort, and longevity — meant to be worn, remembered, and passed on.
How to Style Soraya?
Soraya dresses are designed to transition effortlessly from daytime elegance to evening celebrations.
For a traditional look, pair the outfit with heritage jewelry such as kundan or polki, classic khussas, and soft, natural makeup that allows the craftsmanship to shine.
For a modern, refined style, opt for statement earrings, sleek heels, and a clean hair silhouette — a low bun or soft waves work beautifully. Keep accessories minimal to maintain the collection’s quiet luxury.
For daytime occasions, choose light makeup, delicate sandals, and a loosely draped dupatta. For evening wear, elevate the look with deeper makeup tones, a more structured dupatta drape, and subtle metallic accents.
Each Soraya piece is meant to feel personal styled not to impress, but to express.
A Tribute That Lives On
Soraya is my way of honoring my mother’s legacy and sharing her light with the world. It is an invitation to celebrate the women who guide us — mothers, mentors, and muses — whose influence shapes us in ways both seen and unseen.
Like the stars it is named after, Soraya is meant to shine quietly yet endlessly, reminding us that love and creativity never fade — they simply transform.
